I adore the vibrancy and texture of soft pastel. I started pastel painting in 2019 on a whim and started exploring oil paints in 2024. Now I’m inspired by the other incredible artists around me and the beauty of my home in Teton Valley, Idaho. For me, each piece feels like a small celebration the magic of light, color, form and imagination. The endeavor leaves me with a strong desire to keep creating and attempting to capture what landscapes make me feel. My other love is growing flowers which I do in earnest in the summer and love to share with others.
Soft pastel is a medium somewhere between drawing and painting. Pastel sticks are made of dry, concentrated pigments that are drawn onto the paper in layers. The final product can be referred to as a painting. The resulting paintings do require some protection however, because unlike wet mediums, they do not fix permanently to the paper. If you are purchasing a piece, please see care instructions.
I have been creating my oil paintings on birch wood panels and am looking forward to exploring this medium more in the months and years to come.

I look forward to connecting with other artists about their passions, motivators and technical knowledge. I am equally excited to connect with anyone interested in art whether it’s appreciation, collecting or requesting a commission. Please feel free to reach out!
